Deputies hunt street sign bandit in Monroe County

Thousands of dollars’ worth of road signs have gone missing in Monroe County.

The sheriff's office there said the majority of signs were stolen in the northern part of the county.

This includes stop, yield, and street name signs that are worth about $11,000 in all.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information to please contact them.

Stealing road signs is a felony with a maximum sentence of up to 15 years in prison.
