Police searched for a gunman after a deadly shooting at a gas station in DeKalb County early on Thanksgiving morning.

The shooting happened at about 1:00 a.m. Thursday at the Chevron gas station on Bouldercrest Road near I-285. A man was putting air in his car tires when he got into an argument with another man, according to investigators. The dispute then moved into the convenience store. Police say that's where the shooter killed the car owner.

Police said the victim was shot twice in the chest. The victim's brother told investigators he was in the car when the shooting happened. He went inside after hearing the shots and tried to save his brother by performing CPR, but the victim died at the scene.

Investigators reviewed surveillance video inside the store and interviewed witnesses in the hours after the shooting. Police described the gunman as a black male with a full beard, standing 5'11" with a medium build. He was wearing a red hat, a white Adidas T-shirt and red and white Adidas pants. He drove away from the scene in a dark-colored sedan, according to police.
