Teacher accused of sexual misconduct with two students bonds out of jail

- A former Buford High School teacher and football coach, accused of sexual misconduct with two of his students, has bonded out of jail.

Brad Elliott, 37, of Waleska, Georgia, recently resigned from Buford High School. He was arrested Wednesday on sexual battery and sexual assault charges.

Gwinnett County Police said the battery charge stems from a student reporting Elliott touched her inappropriately while they were in his classroom. The sexual assault charge stems from a consensual encounter with another student on campus. That student is over the age of consent.

"The act itself was legal except for the nature of their relationship. Because he is her teacher it is actually illegal under this code section and this has to do with people who have authority over other people," said Gwinnett County Police Capt. Jake Smith.

Police said they want to know if there are any other victims. Prior to working at Buford High School, Elliott was at Roswell High School for several years.

"Due to his position at this school and his previous occupation at Roswell High School there is a concern there could be other victims," said Capt. Smith.

Chick Kazienko has three children in Buford City Schools. He said he has faith in the administration that they took all necessary steps to protect the students.

Elliott turned himself in late Wednesday night, then bonded out from the Gwinnett County Jail early Thursday morning.
