Two very special children became the newest members of the Bert’s Big Adventure family last week.

Wednesday, the Bert’s Big Adventure staff, along with a team of Disney characters, piled up in the Fur Bus to surprise two deserving families with some great news: they would be joining the 2016 all-expenses paid trip to Walt Disney world!

The first stop was to see Marley E. She’s 11 years old and suffers from Antiphospholipid Syndrome and Lupus. Marley, with a sweet smile on her face, said she felt “good” about her trip to Disney as she danced with some of her favorite princesses inside her family's home that night.

The next stop was to surprise 12 year old Autumn M., who is fighting Lymphoblastic Lymphoma.

“Today was chemo for her and chemo is usually really rough and she was tired, but we’re so grateful,” said Autumn’s mother.  “We are truly, truly grateful for what you guys have done.”

It was truly an evening to remember!

Bert’s Big Adventure was founded by Bert Weiss, the host of “The Bert Show,” and Stacey Weiss. It’s a non-profit organization that provides an all-expenses paid 5-day trip to Walt Disney World for children with chronic or terminal illnesses and their families. It was established in 2002.

All of the Bert’s Big Adventure families have been selected for the 2016 trip.

To qualify for Bert’s Big Adventure, a child must be between the ages of 5-12 years old and live in “The Bert Show” radio listening area, prove financial need and have never been to Walt Disney World.
