Bartow County 'heroes' help make Christmas great for area kids

BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. - About 300 Bartow County children had an amazing day thanks to some local heroes. The kids enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast early Saturday morning at the Clarence Brown Conference Center in Cartersville.

Then it was off to Walmart to shop with a hero. The kids were teamed up helpers from Bartow County Public Safety, the military, high school ROTC, and high school athletes.

Of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus were part of the festivities.

The children were given $100 to spend on clothes and $50 to spend on toys. Many of the kids used that money to buy presents for their parents and siblings.

The $50,000 that made all this possible came from donations from some very generous elves.
