Police have made an arrest in the shooting death of a Lilburn woman who was found behind a gas station in DeKalb County last week.

Authorities identified the suspect as Visheslav Feder, 29, of Lilburn, and he was arrested on Saturday in Johnson County, Arkansas.

Feder is accused in the death of 25-year-old Avery Birthrong. According to police, Birthrong was shot on July 17 in Gwinnett County, but her body was found behind the BP gas station on Hugh Howell Road near Lilburn Stone Mountain Road in DeKalb County.

Investigators said two men, Birthrong's boyfriend, and another man, were in the car with Birthrong when someone opened fire on the car, killing her. The man driving the car drove away from the scene after the shooting and stopped at the BP gas station. That's when the police were called.

Family members believe the shooter targeted Birthrong because she owed him $70 dollars.

"They got into some trouble couple of weeks ago and she borrowed some money from someone and they retaliated against her," Birthrong's boyfriend's mother said.

Gwinnett County Police said Feder was stopped while driving along Interstate 40 by Arkansas State Police. He remains in Arkansas and is charged with three counts of aggravated assault and one count of felony murder.

Authorities aren't sure why Feder was in Arkansas at the time of his arrest.
