Armed and dangerous suspect arrested in Cherokee County

Police have arrested an armed and dangerous suspect following a manhunt in Alpharetta.

Officials say Thomas Bennett, 47, was arrested at a residence in Cherokee County Saturday morning and will be transported to the Alpharetta North Fulton annex jail. He was wanted for charges of armed robbery and attempted robbery for crimes committed at an Alpharetta Walgreens.

Police say Bennett is also a suspect in a violent carjacking in early December, where he allegedly smashed out a woman’s window at a traffic light and then stole her car.
