Fight turns into a shoot-out in busy strip mall

Bystanders ran into businesses and ducked for cover, as DeKalb County police responded to a shootout at the Rockmore Plaza Shopping Center. 

Officers tell FOX 5,  two men got into a fight and ended up firing numerous shots in the parking lot of the shopping center on the 4800 block of Memorial Drive. 

A 44-year-old male is in custody but charges have not yet been determined. The 42-year-old male suffered some minor injuries. It is unclear if he will also face charges.

Police do not know why the fight started. Witnesses tell us officers responded quickly to the scene.

"One gun-- a man holding and shooting it. [I was] ducking behind the counter with my coworker," said Sarah Chin, who works at Royal Caribbean Bakery. Numerous employees at various businesses tell us people ran inside establishments to flee from gunfire.

No one else was injured in the shootout.

One vehicle with a bullet hole was taken from the scene.
