30 cars stolen from Chamblee car dealership

A metro Atlanta dealership is fed up after more cars were stolen off the lot.

In the past, it's been three or four cars, but on Monday night, it was more than thirty.

The dealership is still counting to find out exactly how many cars were removed from this lot. They do know it's more than thirty and the price on that ranges from $1.5 to $2 million.

"I think if a bank in downtown Atlanta was robbed for $2 million on a Monday night. I’m not saying anything bad about Chamblee Police, there's one detective I'm talking to, but I guarantee you there would be a lot more help for that individual to get to the bottom line," said Michael Orcutt, General Manager of Landmark Jeep, Ram Chrysler Dodge of Atlanta.

Orcutt wants whoever broke into his lot Monday night caught. Sometime between 12:30 and 5 a.m., more than thirty cars were stolen.

"You become very angry, OK. Frustrated because this has happened continually in the past but not to this magnitude," said Orcutt.

Orcutt said of course the cars are insured, but that doesn't mean they don't feel the hit from this loss.

"We pay a much higher premium, it adds to the overall cost from probably your insurance too it's very frustrating," said Orcutt.

Orcutt said both times, the dealerships alarm was disabled and he said judging from the number of cars taken, there had to be a pretty big crew involved.

"If I went downstairs now and asked five or six of my staff to help me move 35 to 40 cars, it would take us a while to do it. We're on a very small property, a congested lot, there's a lot of moving in and out and they... so this gang was organized. They probably came in numbers. I don't know exactly how they got the vehicles away from here," said Orcutt.

Chamblee Police said they are investigating and pulling surveillance from nearby dealerships.

Orcutt said he hopes the police find the people responsible.

"It's a bad problem that never gets publicized," said Orcutt.

The dealership is offering a $5,000 reward.
