"He seemed very heartbroken and had a lot of questions," said Mandy Chastain.

Chastain said she explained to her son Cohen the following day there would be crowds of people gathering to honor Detective Hearne.

He said he wanted to go out there and wear the uniform," said Chastain.

For two hours, Cohen stood at attention. After seeing that, The Floyd County Sheriff's Office decided to give Cohen his very own police car. He has had it a few days now and showed it off all the bells and whistles to NewsRadio 106.7’s Christy Hutchings.

"It beeps and everything," said Cohen.

But Cohen things something is ever more cool than his new patrol car.

"They are superheroes, just real," said Cohen talking about police officers.

Real life superheroes who have made a little boy's dream come true.

"He has arrested us a million times, us his bother, the dog everyone," said Chastain.

"I catch bad guys," Cohen said.

But don't be fooled, he's not serious all the time. Cameras caught Cohen in a different, more playful mood.
