Gunman forces way into apartment of KSU students

Police are searching for a robber who forced his way at gunpoint into the off-campus apartment of several Kennesaw State University students Wednesday and even fired shots to threaten the victims.

The ordeal happened around 10:40 a.m. at the Greenhouse Patio Apartments located in the 3800 block of George Busbee Parkway NW. Investigators said during the robbery, the man fired off at least two rounds from his gun.

One roommate said the gunman ambushed him as he was outside the apartment in the parking lot by his BMW and confronted him for cash. The victim said he told the robber he had some valuables inside his home and forced the KSU student back into his apartment.

While two roommates were inside, the students said the robber stole game consoles, cash, and a TV before forcing them both back outside at gunpoint, again by the BMW.

"I think he was trying to force us to go somewhere. I wasn't leaving the premises. That's when we got into a scuffle and altercation, and he fired three shots in the air," one of the victims said, wanting to remain anonymous. He said he suffered some cuts and bruises in the scuffle, as the robber took off.

Cobb County police described the robber as a black male, 20-25 years old, 5'10" to 6' with short dreadlocks on the top of his head.
