Two Cobb County men were killed in a violent car crash Sunday afternoon. Police are now looking into whether the driver who hit them was street racing at the time.

Patrick Duff and his friend James Wheeler were driving in a black Toyota Sunday afternoon on Bates Road, just turning on to Floyd Road in Mableton, when police said the driver of a red Infiniti slammed into them.

Police said 19-year-old Austell resident George Cambi was behind the wheel of that Infiniti. Investigators said there was also a young child in the backseat.

Cobb County Police said several witnesses reported seeing the Infiniti race another car just before the crash. Detectives are now talking to more witnesses and looking for any video to determine if the driver was racing.

Families of the two men who were killed are devastated. They said both were fathers.

"James had a son, my brother had three kids," Brittani Marotti said.

Danielle Landers is Patrick Duff's sister. She said his youngest child is just 8 months old.

"She's never going to know who her daddy is," said Landers.

Landers said Patrick was the kind of guy who never met a stranger and always brought sunshine into everyone's life.

"He was golden, his heart, his everything was golden, he was a beautiful human being," said Landers.

There is a GoFundMe account set up to help the families of Duff and Wheeler.
