A South Carolina hair salon was vandalized with racist, anti-immigrant messages, according to local outlets.

"Go back to Mexico," is just part of several messages spray-painted on a small hair salon in Easley, SC, FOX Carolina's Matthew Ablon reports

The owner of Rosa's Hair Salon, Rose Cabrera, told FOX Carolina she got a call from a neighbor telling her about the vandalism on Tuesday.

The messages also said to "take the drug cartel murder culture with you."

Cabrera tells FOX Carolina that in addition to the graffiti, the vandal also shattered the glass window in the front door.

"It's sad...but because I'm Spanish? I don't understand this. I really don't," she said.

Her son, Andy, shared his mother's feelings, but said at the end of the day all they can do is pick up the pieces and keep on doing business.

"We can just clean up and go forward from there," he said, "hopefully keep it from happening again. It's all you can do."

Police are investigating the incident, and encourage anyone with information to come forward.
