Acworth grandmother wins $533K Fantasy 5 jackpot
ACWORTH, Ga. - Christmas has come early for an Acworth grandmother who bought a "golden" ticket Monday night.
Melissa Golden has won $533,669 after matching all five numbers in the December 4 Fantasy 5 drawing.
Golden purchased the winning ticket from Lakeside Crossing on Glade Road Southeast while on her way home from visiting her grandchildren Monday evening.
“I saw how big the jackpot was and decided to play,” she said. “I bought two tickets.”
Golden, who chose the Quik Pik option, said she was in shock Monday night when she realized she had won.
The grandmother said she plans to use the money to buy a couple of things for herself, as well as for her family.
"I'm going to spoil my grandchildren," she said. "I'm very grateful."
Golden works for Monitor Manufacturing in Cartersville.
