Soul stars stage Memorial Day weekend event

They are some of the biggest names in soul music, and this weekend, stars including Lalah Hathaway, Ledisi, Eric Benet, and Avery*Sunshine will join forces to give Atlanta a Memorial Day weekend it will never forget.

The ATL Soul Life Music Festival is taking over Atlanta’s Wolf Creek Amphitheater Saturday, May 26th and Sunday, May 27th, headlined by 12-time Grammy-nominee Ledisi and 5-time Grammy-winner Lalah Hathaway.  The two-day music festival is produced by Army veteran Jeremy “JD” Hill, and drew crowds of more than 10,000 people in its first two years of existence.  This time around, Best New Artist Grammy-nominee Ledisi will be joined by fellow singer-songwriters Eric Benet, Raheem DeVaughn, and Anthony David on Saturday, while Lalah Hathaway (“For Ever, For Always, For Love”) will take the stage Sunday with fellow soul stars Will Downing, Avery*Sunshine, and Eric Roberson

Tickets for the ATL Soul Life Music Festival start at $45 per night, with two-day passes available for $75, and may be purchased through Ticketmaster or at the Wolf Creek box office.  The show starts at 6:30 p.m. each night, and parking at Wolf Creek Amphitheatre is free.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning at Wolf Creek Amphitheater, chatting with a few of this year’s performers about why this festival has become such a huge hit here in Atlanta.
