Motor madness returns to Hampton for annual festival

Good Day Atlanta viewers know that every April, there’s going to be at least one morning where things get really, really loud (and no, this is not a reference to a certain feature reporter screaming his head off on a rollercoaster).  Well…that morning has arrived once again.

The Summit Racing Equipment Atlanta Motorama is back at Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend, on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28.

As you probably know, the event is billed as “Georgia’s Motoring Festival” and features basically every kind of vehicle with an engine in it — and as we’ve learned time and time again, many of them can get very noisy!  Whether you’re into classic cars, exotics, motorcycles or monster trucks, there will be something to whet your appetite for action — not to mention plenty of like-minded folks ready to talk tires, engines, and finishes!

Popular exhibits returning to this year’s Motorama include the Georgia Lottery Million-Dollar Salon, appropriately named for high end rare and valuable vehicles. The Georgia Power Show Car Garage is an invite-only exhibition of the finest cars and trucks in the country, and the Motorama Bikefest is open to motorcycle owners who want to show of their two-wheeled masterpieces and compete for awards including Best Paint and Best Chassis.

Atlanta Motor Speedway will also be filled with vendors and will host a Pull-A-Part Swap Meet for those who like to do more than just window shop.

Admission to this year’s Summit Racing Equipment Atlanta Motorama costs $15 per day and $20 for a weekend pass, and children ages 12 and under can get in for free.  Tickets are available in advance and at the gates, and spectator entrance is located at Gates 13 and 15.

So … we’ve covered Motorama for several years now, and each time, we find something new to show off on TV — remember those noisy gassers and the "Christmas Vacation" RV last year?  So what did we stumble upon this time?  Click the video player above to see for yourself!
