History comes alive at Fort Yargo State Park this weekend

It's a group of people dedicated to keeping the past...in the present.  And this weekend, the Fort Yargo Living History Society will demonstrate what life was like in 1792 with the annual 18th Century Colonial Market Faire.

This is the 7th annual Market Faire, during which Living Historians will reenact what life was like in Georgia in the 1790s.  That means the historians will be dressed in traditional clothing and will be demonstrating traditional trades.  Guests will be able to do some shopping at the trading post, and there are children's activities scheduled throughout the day.  The Market Faire will take place at the old fort at Fort Yargo State Park, located at 210 S. Broad Street in Winder.  Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday, and admission is five dollars.
