Atlanta Writer Pens Hallmark Christmas Movie

STORY:

Nothing says “the holidays” like curling up on the couch and binge-watching some Hallmark Channel Christmas movies.  And a new one premiering this week has a unique Atlanta connection.

Award-winning playwright and Atlanta resident Topher Payne wrote the script for Broadcasting Christmas, which premieres on Hallmark Channel Wednesday, November 23 at 8 p.m.  The movie stars Melissa Joan Hart and Dean Cain as rival television personalities fighting over the same job as co-host of America’s number-one morning show.  Sparks fly amid the competition, of course, and Payne says his script is full of “Hepburn-Tracy” banter sure to please fans of the popular Hallmark Channel Christmas lineup.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken sat down with the writer to talk about the project, and the personal connection he feels to the network’s content.

Let It Snow: Six Flags Over Georgia Promises a White Christmas

STORY:

Forget about the North Pole -- this year, Santa Claus is making Six Flags Over Georgia his home for the holiday season.

Holiday in the Park returns to the Austell amusement park from November 19 through January 4, creating some Christmas magic with more than a million LED lights, dozens of decorated trees, and daily snowfall on Main Street.  The park will feature several themed areas, including Peppermint Plaza, Retro Christmas USA, and Holiday City, and rides will remain open during the 26 days of Holiday in the Park.  This year's centerpiece will be the Candlelight Carousel, as the 1908 Riverview Carousel gets covered by lights, garland, ornaments, and more than 200 luminary candles.

Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken spent the morning at Six Flags Over Georgia, getting a first look at what's becoming a North Georgia holiday tradition.
