Enjoying a first taste of fall with Pie Bar

Another Labor Day has come and gone, which means summer is unofficially over and a new season is beginning.  And even if the Georgia heat hasn't quite let up yet, it's still easy to get into the "fall spirit" with a slice of pie at one of Metro Atlanta's most popular pie shops.

Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken spent the morning at Pie Bar in Woodstock, where owners Lauren and Cody Bolden keep the ovens warm and the cases stocked at all times.

Lauren Bolden's been baking pies since she was a child, and now serves up several types every day, selling them whole or by the slice out of her Woodstock storefront.  The shop's rotating menu of pies includes Blueberry Buttermilk, Salted Caramel Apple Streusel, Tart Cherry, and Key Lime, and Bolden says pie availability often depends on which local fruits are in season, as she tries to use as much locally-grown produce as possible.

Pie Bar is located at 8720 Main Street, Suite 130, in Woodstock -- and is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and Noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
