Jake’s Sloppy Slaw Burger at The Red Eyed Mule is the dietary equivalent of a national celebrity. Let’s face it when Alton Brown from Food Network calls it his favorite Atlanta burger, that is some serious street cred.
While it would be very tempting for #BurgersWithBuck to follow his lead and feature that famous burger, we fancy ourselves leaders rather than followers. That is one of the reasons that we decided it was high time for the Sassy Senorita Burger to get some TV time. You see it’s everything that the Sloppy Slaw Burger is… and more.
Much like Jake’s Sloppy Slaw Burger, the Sassy Senorita Burger is made with a quarter pound of fresh grilled Certified Black Angus chuck served on buttered and grilled Texas Toast. Also much like JSSB, it is served with “sloppy Jimmy and a heaping amount of homemade coleslaw”, but then the SSB takes it a couple of steps further. We’re talking grilled jalapenos, Applewood smoked bacon, and cheddar cheese.
Listen, I have total respect For Alton Brown and his opinion, but the Sassy Senorita didn’t exist when he crowned Jake’s Sloppy Slaw, and with this combination of flavors including sweet, heat, and bacon, it might be worth another trip to Cobb County. Just sayin'!
Either way, you can’t go wrong, and one more thing… whichever one you choose, it will cost you less than $7. Yes, you read that right and don’t even get me started on the onion rings. You’ll just have to check them out for yourself.
One more thing, the Sassy Senorita Burger may, or may not, be named after owner Sabra Wood. Click on the link, watch the segment and decide for yourself.
