It began in 2009 as a way for a Georgia woman to honor her best friend, who’d been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at the age of three.  Today, Cars & ‘Q for the Cause has grown into a major fundraiser and an annual reminder of the power of friendship.

The 9th annual Cars & ‘Q for the Cause returns to the Choate Construction Company headquarters at 8200 Roberts Drive in Atlanta on Saturday, April 21, from 4 to 7 p.m.  The event was created as a way to gather up some car lovers, enjoy some barbeque, and raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which Choate has supported since 1989, shortly after company founder Millard Choate’s daughter’s best friend was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis.  In 2017, Cars & ‘Q for the Cause donated more than $320,000 to the CF Foundation, and since it began supporting the Foundation, Choate Construction Company has raised more than $3 million for the cause.   Tickets for this year’s Cars & ‘Q for the Cause may be purchased online, and the event will feature more than one hundred cars, live music, and barbeque served by Jim ‘N Nick’s Community Bar-B-Q.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning with the team from Choate Construction Company, learning more about this year’s big event and why it’s something so important to the people behind it.
