Officials at the Atlanta Federal Penitentiary say its working with the city of Atlanta to figure out why the prison has unsafe levels of arsenic in the water.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons officials say inmates are cooking with and drinking bottled water.

Several tests late last year showed arsenic levels above safe standards.

The tests were conducted between September 2018 and this past January.

Federal prison officials say Atlanta Watershed tested the water again on Monday but those results were ready as of Wednesday evening.
