Police: Atlanta Braves player's home burglarized

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Braves star Nick Markakis earns a handsome living playing baseball.

Some crooks decided they wanted some of his stuff and smashed a window to get into his home.

Markakis lives in a tiny Buckhead community. So the fact that police have been called there three times over the last few weeks is noteworthy.

There are fewer than 100 homes there.

Removed from the Markakis home $20,000 in cash, five weapons, and a fancy prestige watch.

On the same night, thieves got into another residence. They removed a safe and stole $10,000 in cash and four watches.

Police warn that in all the cases, the crooks seemed to know exactly where to go to get what they wanted.
