The family of a motorcyclist hit and seriously injured on the interstate Saturday evening hopes the driver who struck him will come forward.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers responded to an accident on Interstate 20 near H. E. Holmes Drive, NW at around 8 p.m.  Investigators have not released many details, but relatives said Charles "CJ" Moore, 30, was injured in the accident.

"His arm is broken.  He got hemorrhaging on the brain--jaw broke, leg broke, punctured lungs," said Tina Turner, Moore's mother.  "So, he has a long road to recovery."

Moore's family said two cars were involved.  The first knocked Moore off his bike and into the roadway; the second, according to the family, ran him over.  Relatives said the driver of the first car left the scene, but the second driver stayed.

Turner said it pains her to know that someone would leave her injured son behind.

"It hurts.  That's my baby.  It hurts," said Turner.  "Somebody please just come and say something.  If you saw something, say something.  That's all I ask."

Moore was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital and has already undergone surgery for his injuries, the family said.

Moore's family says they do not have a good description of the car involved, but they hope anyone with information will call Atlanta police.
