Hurricane Michael spawned a tornado that damaged more than a half a dozen homes in central Georgia's Crawford County.

Sheriff officials told FOX 5 the apparent twister impacted seven homes on Flint River Estates Road. The small residential street is off of Highway 128, about five miles west of Roberta.

Homeowner Wayne Grenade told FOX 5 he saw the storm taking out dozens of trees as he sat on his porch. He said he grabbed his wife and their dog, then pulled a sofa over them and prayed while trees fell on their home.

Granade lost a huge garage and thinks as many as 150 trees fells on his five-acre lot, but he considers himself lucky that he and his family are still alive.

A number of downed trees now line the roadway as well as downed power lines; however, the roads are fairly passable. Officials said about 1,100 homes in the county are in dark.

Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.

The National Weather Service said it was an EF-1 tornado packing winds of about 110 mph. It was about 250 yards across and stayed on the ground for a little more than four miles.
