A big revitalization project is now underway in the city of Atlanta.

Mayor Kasim Reed broke ground on the Proctor Creek Greenway Thursday.

The greenway will be a seven-mile bike and pedestrian trail, stretching from Maddox Park and the Atlanta Westside Trail to the Chattahoochee River.

Officials said the $11.5 million project will feature 50 acres of park and 400 acres of green space as well as bring new life to several neighborhoods.

The city of Atlanta is using TSPLOST funds to pay for the project.
