First responders' appreciation luncheon in Henry County
HENRY COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Honors Monday for first responders called to the scene of last week's deadly standoff in Henry County.
The annual First Responders Appreciation Luncheon recognizes the brave men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting others.
Organizers honored police officers, firefighters, and other first responders who rushed to the scene of that standoff for their heroic actions.
Community leaders credit them for putting their lives on the line every day to keep the city of Stockbridge and its residents safe.

Two Henry County Police officers suffered gunshot wounds during the SWAT standoff.
Medics rushed both of them to Grady Memorial Hospital for emergency treatment but they've both been released.
Councilman Thomas said the community is praying for their full recovery.
