Atlanta passes new rules for booting companies

Changes are coming to the way booting companies operate in Atlanta.

An ordinance passed by the City Council Monday night will strengthen the background check requirements for booting companies.

It will also require changes in the signs posted in private lots, making the parking rules easier to understand.

Booters will also be required to wear shirts with their company's name and they must have their license on display.

The ordinance is also requiring quicker response times by booters.

This will all take effect once signed by Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.

The new signage in parking lots will be required by April 1.
