Middle School phenom has college football offer

He's the hottest quarterback prospect in the class of 2020. That's right I said 2020. 14-year-old Harrison Bailey of Powder Springs is still in middle school, but he already has an offer to play college football for the University of Miami.

"It was one of my dreams" Bailey told FOX 5 on Wednesday afternoon before working out in Acworth. "It was crazy, shocking, mouth open, you know, one of them crazy experiences. They just sat me down and talked to me for a little bit and then (said) we'd like to offer you a scholarship. Do you think you can handle it?"

Mark Richt's offer wasn't a shock considering this young man's immense size and talent. He stands six feet three inches tall and weighs 195 pounds. His size 14 shoes are almost as impressive as the size of his hands. He grips the ball with hands that are already larger than former UGA quarterback Aaron Murray's were when he showed up at the NFL combine two years ago.

Bailey will attend Hillgrove High School in the fall and hopes to make a difference in his freshman year.

"I'll hopefully get the starting job and lead my team to a successful year and make the playoffs and go as far as we can."

Bailey's star has risen much like that of another Georgia quarterback, Cartersville's Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence was on college radars when he was in elementary school. Like Bailey, he was a rare mix of size and talent- now he's a state champion with the Purple Hurricanes and juggling offers from the nation's top college programs.
