ATLANTA - A man and a woman were killed early Thursday morning in a murder-suicide.
Police were called out to a home on Sandcreek Drive in southwest Atlanta to perform a welfare check after relatives were unable to contact the people in the home Wednesday night. After forcing their way inside, officers and firefighters found the man and woman dead upstairs. Both had been shot.
Detectives said it's too early to know who pulled the trigger.
The victims are described as a couple, but investigators didn't know if they were still married or possibly divorced.
The couple leaves behind a son. His age wasn't released at the scene.
Detectives said police had not been called out to the home in the past, and they have no idea what sparked the deadly shooting.
