Sheriff: Woman, sex offender arrested in Clayton County

A registered sex offender and the woman who was housing him have both been arrested Friday afternoon, the Clayton County Sheriff said.

In a statement, Sheriff Victor Hill said that Orlando Beals was charged with a sexual offense in Illinoise had moved to Lowndes County in Georgia before disappearing.

Lowdes County put out a warrant for Beals' arrest after his disappearance on June 6. Nearly a month later on Friday, August 3, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office Stalking and B.A.T. Units went to an apartment on Mt. Zion Road to try to find Beal.

Police say Nadine Jackson answered the door of the apartment, but would not open it and did not answer the deputies for 20 minutes.

She eventually let deputies in. They arrested both her and Beals at the time.
