MARTA ramping up service for New Year's Eve
ATLANTA - MARTA is ramping up its train service to help to keep the expected large crowds in Downtown Atlanta moving.
Several large-scale events are planned on Sunday evening in and around Downtown including a concert at Philips Arena, an Atlanta Falcons game at Mercedes-Benz stadium, and the Peach Drop at Woodruff Park.
Extra trains will run more frequently than normal until 2 a.m. on Monday morning, January 1. According to MARTA spokesperson Stephany Fisher, even more trains will also be added as needed.
“Atlanta offers so many great events to ring in the new year and we want everyone to leave their car at home, take MARTA, and have a safe and enjoyable evening,” said MARTA Interim GM/CEO Elizabeth O’Neill.
If you plan on using a ride-sharing service to leave the Falcons game, Lyft is offering fans a promo code for a $20 credit. You have to catch a Lyft from Mercedes-Benz stadium between 6:25 and 9:25 p.m. on December 31. Just enter the promo code BUDLIGHTNYE under the promos section of the Lyft app.
