Police: Man followed, beaten outside his house in DeKalb County

A DeKalb County man is recovering from a serious concussion after, he says, three gunmen beat and carjacked him outside his house Wednesday.

"Fists were flying and I was laying there looking up at three guys," Lance Seymour said.

Seymour said the ordeal started when he was driving to a store. He said, once he was near Bouldercrest and Flat Shoals Roads, a car full of people rear-ended his car.

"Then they rammed into the back of the car and then I heard a gunshot," Seymour added.

He pulled into a gas station in East Atlanta Village where he alerted police.

Once he got to his house, Seymour said the same gunmen ambushed him before taking his car, phone and money.

"I was thinking I would give them everything to avoid them going into my house," Seymour said, adding his wife and small child were inside the house the entire time.

DeKalb County Police told FOX 5 Seymour's vehicle (a 2010 Volkswagen) was found outside a vacant house. But he's still missing his guitar which was inside the vehicle. He said it's worth $2,000.
