Man charged in shooting of 4-year-old girl

LAGRANGE, Ga. - Police have charged a man with child cruelty after a little girl was shot in the head by one of her siblings.

It happened last month at an apartment on Whitesville Street in Lagrange.

Police said the gun was stored in a place where the kids had easy access to it.

They arrested Antonio Meriweather Monday afternoon.

He was also charged with reckless conduct.

Police said the girl, Joniah Knight, was still in the hospital at the time of the arrest.
