Atlanta Police have made an arrest in a shooting at a popular Midtown restaurant in August.

The suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Thaddeus Todd. Witness accounts and surveillance cameras helped lead to his arrest, according to police.

The shooting happened just before 9 p.m. on August 28 at JCT Kitchen, which is located on Howell Mill Road. Atlanta Police said a married couple was in the parking lot of the restaurant when Todd attempted to rob them, demanding the husband's watch.

The husband, identified as 25-year-old Bruno Bafico, refused and a brief struggle ensued. That's when, according to police, Todd fired several shots at Bafico, who then ran into the restaurant.

Police said the gunman ran after Bafico into the crowded establishment, continuing to fire at least two more times in the process. Bafico fell over a cooler behind the bar, and police said the suspect tried to shoot him again, but the gun malfunctioned.

Investigators said the suspect fled the scene and jumped into the back seat of a black SUV.

Police said a number of witnesses turned in cell phone footage, which helped them identify Todd as the suspect. Shell casings found at the scene were also positively tested and identified as being from a gun in his possession.

Todd has been charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by first offender probationer.

Atlanta Police said Todd is suspected in several other "high-profile" armed robbery cases and was already in the Fulton County jail when he was charged with the JCT Kitchen shooting.

Todd was booked into the Fulton County Jail.
