Deputies said a teenager has been charged with the murder of her mother in their home on Thursday.

Authorities said 19-year-old Tatiana Van Linden called Coweta 911 and said she stabbed her 54-year-old mother, Leslie Van Linden. After a few moments, Coweta 911 received a call from the victim’s husband that his daughter had stabbed his wife and they needed medical help.

Captain John Kennedy with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office said Van Linden stabbed her mother with a steak knife after the two got into an argument about going to Riverwoods Mental Health Facility.

Deputies said the victim was found in the back of the house. Officials said the knife was found inside a book bag.

Kennedy said Tatiana Van Linden told investigators the stabbing was an accident and she was sorry.

Officials said Leslie Van Linden died from her injuries at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Tatiana Van Linden is at the Coweta County Jail, where officials said she is being held without bond.
