DeKalb County buys new police, fire rescue vehicles

DeKalb County first responders are now working with some brand new equipment.

Wednesday morning, DeKalb’s CEO Michael Thurmond revealed 60 new police and fire rescue vehicles which were purchased using tax dollars.

Officials said the funds came specifically from Special Purpose Local Sales Tax also known as SPLOST.

DeKalb County voters approved the measure last November.

County officials expect the state-of-the-art vehicles to be in service by the end of this month.
