Souper Jenny gives back through Zadie Project

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Tis the season for helping others, but for Jenny Levison, AKA Souper Jenny, giving back to her local community is always in season.

Named in honor of her grandfather who gave her the recipe for her famous "My Dad's Turkey Chili," the Zadie Project's mission is two-fold.

One: serve the immediate need of the community with delicious homemade soup. Every time a Souper Jenny customer purchases Turkey Chili, the cost of that soup goes right back into the nonprofit which helps feed children, families, and seniors who just need a little help.

The Zadie Project currently provides 500 quarts per week, with a goal of 1,000 quarts per week.

Two: educate about the possibilities of urban farming and healthy food preparation. Farmer Jeff runs the Souper Farm outside Souper Jenny's westside location. It is a one-acre urban farm built on raised beds, in the parking lot. Not only does the Souper Farm provide fresh vegetables for the soups served in the restaurant, but it also educates kids about vegetables, farming, and what can be grown in Georgia.
