Atlanta airport begins mandatory checks for arriving passengers
Federal health officials are taking aggressive steps to protect the U.S. homeland as a deadly health crisis intensifies overseas. The U.S. government has officially expanded its mandatory Ebola screening policy to include incoming passengers arriving here at Atlanta’s airport who have recently traveled to the impacted countries in Central Africa. The directive comes on the heels of the World Health Organization declaring a Global Health Emergency over a highly lethal, rare outbreak of the Bundibugyo Ebola strain in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda.
