Work continues on Interstate 75 overpass after a hole appeared early Wednesday morning.
CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - Transportation crews have temporarily plugged the hole that opened on the Meadowbrook Lane overpass above Interstate 75 in Clayton County, allowing the roadway to remain mostly open to drivers. Workers were back on the scene early Thursday morning to continue repair work.
Officials say the cause of the damage remains under investigation, and there is still no estimated timeline for a full repair.

A major traffic mess unfolded on Interstate 75 north early Wednesday morning after a hole opened up on the Meadowbrook Lane overpass, causing significant damage to the bridge and roadway.
Georgia Department of Transportation engineers responded to the site to examine the structure’s stability before repairs could begin.
Drivers heading north on I-75 on Wednesday morning were diverted off at Mount Zion Road and allowed to re-enter the interstate further north.
Repairs are currently underway. According to Stockbridge Police Department, the entrance ramp to I-75 north has reopened. One northbound lane of I-75 will remain closed while the hole is repaired.
