Two bodies found in car at DeKalb County apartments
Two people were found dead inside a vehicle at an apartment complex off Flat Shoals Parkway in DeKalb County on Monday afternoon.
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Two young adult men were found dead inside a vehicle at an apartment complex off Flat Shoals Parkway in DeKalb County on Monday afternoon.
What we know:
Officers responded just after 4 p.m. to the Shepherds Path apartments off Flat Shoals Parkway after reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found both victims inside a car.
The pair was identified by DeKalb County Police as 17-year-old Anthony Reid and 20-year-old Xavieon Liggins.
What they're saying:
Neighbors described the moment as frightening. "It’s right in front of my window," said resident Ayana Torres, who rushed home from a nearby laundromat after her brother called and told her someone had been shot. "Being a parent and a guardian, it’s crazy. Like, you never know, bullets can fly either way."

One neighbor, Darryl Hall, said the complex is typically quiet but noted the location could make it easy for someone to flee through nearby wooded areas.
What we don't know:
Police have not released the victims’ names, their ages, or clarified their relationship to one another. They have also not said who opened fire, why it happened, or whether anyone has been arrested.
Investigators have not indicated whether the shooting was isolated.
