Police: Boy critically injured in Marietta hit-and-run

Cobb County investigators are looking for an SUV that they believe hit a boy and sped off.

Officers say the hit-and-run happened on Oliver Springs Road and Cerice Circle in Marietta about 3:45 p.m. Monday.

According to police, as the boy tried to cross the street, a BMW struck him, then fled the scene.

Medics rushed the boy to Scottish Rite hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators described the vehicle as a dark blue or black BMW X3 SUV. It should have damage to the headlight area on the driver's side.
