A Rockmart mom says she wants her daughter's kindergarten teacher arrested after she says the teacher dragged her 5-year-old by the arm to move her between classes.

The incident happened earlier this week at Van Wert Elementary School in Polk County.

The school says it has already removed the teacher from the classroom, but the mom insists that's not enough.

Jada Alexander is furious about the way her 5-year-old daughter Aubrey was treated.

"Aubrey got in trouble. She was asked to move her clip – because they have clips at school – so Aubrey threw a tantrum and fell out on the floor," Alexander said.

She said the school's principal indicated that multiple teachers watched this happen and even reported the dragging to the principal's office.

"She said that it was reported to the office that she was dragging her from one classroom to another with her feet, sliding across the floor by her arms," Alexander said.

The Polk County Assistant Superintendent said that the district removed the teacher from the classroom and is investigating.

Alexander wants to know what the police wasn't called.

"I feel like she needs to be arrested," she said. "You don't put your hands on my child. If that would have been me? I would have been locked up and DFAC would have my child."

Rockmart Police confirmed they were not notified and are not investigating the incident.
