ATLANTA - The FOX 5 Storm Team is tracking lots of tropical moisture that is now firmly in place across north Georgia. This is creating noticeably muggy conditions fueling occasional rain and thunderstorms.
Much like Tuesday's weather, Wednesday will feature plenty of "dry time" in between showers or downpours. The sun will even occasionally peek through. While rain will affect parts of north Georgia at any hour of the day, showers and storms will tend to be most numerous/widespread in the afternoon. We can expect that to be the case each day through the weekend.
Rainfall totals today will generally range between 1/3" to over 1/2", although there can be isolated higher amounts. Any slow moving downpours can create some localized flooding. However, widespread flooding is not currently a concern. We'll be keeping an eye on rising rainfall totals in the days ahead, though.
