Flood Watch for north Georgia through Friday

Rain is back, and it will continue to come in waves for the rest of the week.  For Tuesday afternoon, temperatures are still holding steady from the morning temperatures, meaning a day of temperatures in the upper 30s to low 40s and occasional rain.

With more rain each day through Sunday, rainfall totals could easily average 2"-4" in northwest Georgia, with some isolated higher amounts. Therefore, a Flood Watch is in place for Dade, Walker, Murray, Whitfield, Catoosa, Chatooga, Floyd, Gordon, Bartowm and Polk counties through 7 a.m. Friday.

The chilly temperatures will accompany the rain through Wednesday as a wedge of cooler air remains in place. While rain is  also likely to be heavy at times Thursday and Friday, temperatures will be much milder then (lows near 50 and highs in the 60s). For the weekend, rain is likely on Saturday and Sunday, there may be more breaks in the rain. Skies may begin to clear by Sunday afternoon as temperatures warm into the low 70s!
