ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Scattered showers moved through metro Atlanta Tuesday morning and will get heavier this afternoon as a cold front approaches.
The cold front will bring a line of downpours and possible thunderstorms during the afternoon. While the severe weather risk with this is low, the risk is not zero. West central Georgia, in particular, could have a storm become severe with strong winds. Some rotation can't be completely ruled out either. We advise you to stay "weather aware" as the leading edge of downpours/storms moves through.
Once the cold front has passed with the heaviest rain, scattered showers will linger into the evening. Skies will then clear overnight and temperatures will tumble into the 30s. But breezes will be strong enough to create wind chills in the 20s early Wednesday!
