Cleanup continues across Florida and Georgia following the devastating landfall of Hurricane Michael last Wednesday.

While the hardest hit areas are along the coast and in South Georgia, metro Atlanta didn’t fully escape the storm.

DeKalb County said Tuesday 191 tons of debris were removed and more than forty roads had to be reopened following the destructive Category 4 storm.

DeKalb County sanitation and beautification crews said they were able to complete debris removal by Friday, having worked around the clock.

The county only removed trees in the public right of way. Citizens requesting help on private property should call 404-294-2900 Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
