ATLANTA - Construction crews are working to repair a section of a wall on Interstate 75 where a section of decorative panels has fallen off.
Officials say that a portion of the decorative fascia panels fell off a segment of the wall on I-75 at Windy Hill Road sometime on Friday or Saturday.
The wall section was part of the managed lane portion of the Northwest Corridor Project at the time and was still under construction. It was not open to traffic or the public and there were no injuries or damages to anything other than the panels.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, the panels, which did not provide support to the wall, detached. The wall itself is still intact.
GDOT said they currently do not know why the panel detached and are still investigating as well as determining how to repair the panels.
