ATHENS, Ga. - The SEC named Georgia guard J.J. Frazier as Player of the Week Monday, two days after his performance over arch-rival Georgia Tech.
Frazier, a 5-10, 155-pound, junior from Glennville, Ga., scored 35 points against the Yellow Jackets, the highest output ever by a Georgia player against Tech.
He connected on 9-of-14 (.643) shots from the floor, including 6-of-9 (.667) from 3-point range, and 11-of-12 (.917) from the free throw line.
Frazier also dished out four assists, meaning he had a hand in 43 (57.3 percent) of the Bulldogs' 75 points in the contest. He scored 22 of second-half points and converted on 8-of-8 attempts at the line in the final 1:29 to ice the game’s outcome.
Georgia returns to action Tuesday night against another ACC opponent when the Bulldogs host Clemson at Stegeman Coliseum at 6 p.m.
