Owls score blowout victory in opener

Trey White passed for 96 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 95 yards and another score to help Kennesaw State win its inaugural football game 56-16 over East Tennessee State on Thursday night.

The season opener for both teams was ETSU's first game since shutting down football for financial following the 2003 season.

The Owls rushed for 416 yards and 6 touchdowns on the night, and several High 5 Sports alums chipped in. Darnell Holland, who played for the Bowdon Red Devils, had a huge touchdown run in the second half, while Peachtree Ridge alum Nick Perrotta stunned ETSU with a pick-six early in the action.
